Overview:
The new Education Estates Strategy introduces stronger expectations around estate management, data and governance, including annual returns against the School Estate Management Standards from autumn 2026.
This practical session run by Rob Gould from Barker Associates, will help SBMs understand what the changes mean in day-to-day terms and how to prepare now, with a focus on compliance, documentation, and best practice estate management.
Presenter Biography:
Rob Gould is a Chartered Surveyor and Partner at Barker, an education-specialist property consultancy. Barker supports schools, trusts and education organisations with estate strategy, capital funding and asset management.
Rob works closely with school leaders, trusts and responsible bodies across the education sector, helping them plan, prioritise and manage their estates effectively. He regularly advises organisations on estate strategy, condition programmes, compliance and capital investment planning, and works with sector bodies to interpret national policy changes affecting school infrastructure.
